Abkhazia Issues New Commemorative Banknote
The National Bank of the Republic of Abkhazia announces the release into circulation of a commemorative banknote with a denomination of 200 apsars. The central element of the obverse design is a portrait of Nestor Apollonovich Lakoba, a revolutionary and leader of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Abkhazia during the 1920s–1930s, positioned in the right third of the banknote.

The center of the banknote features a horseman of the Abkhaz revolutionary detachment “Kiaraz” (based on a composition from a Soviet-era mosaic panel located on the embankment of Sukhum).
In the upper right corner is the State Emblem of the SSR of Abkhazia (1921–1931).
The banknote also contains the current State Emblem of the Republic of Abkhazia, seven stars arranged in a semicircle, the denomination “200 apsars” shown twice, the name of the issuing authority, and the signature of Beslan Baratelia, Chairman of the National Bank of the Republic of Abkhazia.

The center of the reverse side features the decorative inscription “Apsny”, set against the background of a traditional Abkhaz homestead with residential buildings.
The upper part of the composition depicts a soaring hawk.
The banknote also includes seven stars arranged in a semicircle, the denomination 200 apsars shown twice, and the banknote serial number printed in both the right and lower sections of the note.
The predominant color scheme of the banknote is based on red and orange tones.
