UNC – Uncirculated
A flawless, crisp note or coin with no signs of handling, folds, or wear. Mint condition. -
aUNC / AU – About Uncirculated
Slight handling or a minor fold may be present, but the item retains most of its original quality. -
XF / EF – Extra Fine
Light signs of use with minor wear on the edges. Design remains sharp and attractive. -
VF – Very Fine
Clearly circulated with visible wear but still retains most features. Some creases or folds may exist. -
F – Fine
Heavily circulated with moderate wear, possible minor tears or marks, but the details remain readable. -
VG – Very Good
Well-worn with noticeable damage or fading, yet the basic design and text are still visible. -
G – Good

P – Poor

MNH – Mint Never Hinged
A stamp in pristine condition with original gum and no trace of a hinge mark. Ideal for premium collections. -
MLH – Mint Lightly Hinged
Mint condition with a very light hinge mark on the back, showing it was previously mounted. -
MH – Mint Hinged
A stamp that has been hinged and shows more visible signs of mounting on the gum side. -
MS – Miniature Sheet
A small sheet containing one or more stamps, often issued as a commemorative or special edition. -
APS – Army Postal Service

FDC – First Day Cover
